Bio
A warm Trinidad and Tobago/ USA welcome to all my family, friends and Fans. I just wanted to update you on my ins and outs over that past year 2006 and my year off in 2007.
The year 2006 was awesome: my goal for that year was to place in the top 10 and I am happy to say that I did it. My first contest for 2006 was the New York Pro Championship and I placed 10th, I was happy and after that placing 15, 13 and 12th to finish off 2006.
I did my first-ever photoshoot and I had a wonderful time out there in Atlantic City. I was in my best condition ever since winning the NPC Monica Brant Fitness Classic in 2003. My pictures in my photo gallery were from my shoot and I really had fun.
I just want to say thanks to my family, friends, and you, my fans for your support. I will be taking 2007 off to rest and recover while getting in better shape for the 2008 season.
Always remember, you CAN live your dreams. You’ve got to believe in yourself and your gift. And if all else fail at least you’ve tried. But keep in mind that impossible things can happen only when you put God first. HE moves mountains for you, and allows others to show you favor. He will guide and protect you and give you wisdom if you ask Him to. Your gift (talents) is God's gift to you; what you do with it is your gift to Him.
Below I have placed the bio from the previous version of my web site. That bio sketches my early years in fitness competitions but spotlights in particular 2003 -- the year I earned my I.F.B.B. Fitness Pro card.
Stay healthy, fit, and humble. The year 2003 marks a high point in the achievements of Karen Williams (formerly Walcott), Trinidad and Tobago’s well known fitness athlete. She had been competing successfully over the past few years, winning the title of Miss Fitness Trinidad and Tobago 2000 and then the Gold Medal at the Eastern Caribbean Fitness Championship in 2001. She has consistently placed among the top-three medalists at many other fitness competitions in the Caribbean and the USA.
On July 12th 2003 a capacity crowd of more than 2000 burst into wild applause as Karen was crowned winner of not one, but three titles in less than five minutes. Karen became the first person in the English- and Spanish-speaking Carribean to win the acclaimed NPC Monica Brant Fitness Classic. Her high-energy routine and her well honed physique dazzled the audience and judges. Karen won the Tall Class, with all nine of the IFBB Pro judges placing her first. She also captured the Overall Best Fitness Routine and the Overall Fitness Title.
Less than a month later Karen represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2003 Pan American Games held in the Dominican Republic during early August. She won a Silver medal in her sport of Fitness with an outstanding performance. At these games Fitness was a Demonstration Sport. It must also be noted that hers was the first medal earned for Trinidad and Tobago at the 2003 Pan Am Games.
The 2003 Central American and Caribbean Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship (C.A.C.), held in the Bahamas, was Karen’s next competition. In September 2003, Karen became this country’s first IFBB Fitness Professional by winning the Gold Medal in the Medium class and the Gold Medal for Best Fitness Routine (her third at this particular competition). Karen has consistently been among the top three finalists at these C.A.C. championships since her first appearance in 2000. During her first appearance she won the Silver Medal and Best Fitness Award. In 2001 and then in 2002 Karen won Bronze Medals, capping her 2002 achievement with another Best Fitness Routine Award.
But in 2003 Karen will be best remembered for her stellar performance at the C.A.C. Championship -- a performance which won her Trinidad and Tobago's first fitness professional card. She joins the Pro ranks like her countrymen before her: Darrem Charles, Lawrence Marshall, Neila Murray, and Kelvin Daniel.
Karen now looks ahead to competing against the world’s best professional IFBB fitness athletes. She has been assisted and inspired on her journey by many supporters and talented athletes. Karen’s trainer, Mr. Ian "Jamesey" Adams, believes that her skills and her supreme motivation will lead her to new fitness heights. Her fitness inspiration, Monica Brant, encourages her to compete and be among the best.
